The meeting was cal3.ecl to order at 7:35 P.K0 Commissioners
present were: Chairman Duaae, Young, Walters, Jeffers, Merkle and
Christianeerio Aleo present were: City Manager Nelson, Max Bwald and
Allen Kelly*
It was moved and unanimously passed that the minutes of the
previous meeting be hslfl over* Chairman Dunne gave a report of the
conference he had had with Engineer Patterson about the copies of the
engineering study on the Agua Hedionda Lagoon,, He reported that
Mr. Patterson stated that he could complete the study within ninety
days,, He also reported that the County has now agreed to aooept
payment of the full engineering study which would bring it up to
State specifications to send into the County Master Plan0 The
problem of getting copies of the completed report was discussed and
it was agreed that a request should be written to the County for
25 copies, when available, and a letter should be written by
Secretary Merkle, Informing the County of the request and inquiring
as to oosto
A discussion of the meeting of December 6th of the State
Senate Harbor Committee at Santa Barbara, was held and it was agreed
by the Commissioners that Christiansen, Bwald and Kelly would go, and
a communication to the Council be sent making such a request0 It was
also agreed that Engineer Patterson be contacted and asked to attend
on our behalf o
Rules and regulations for the Lagoon were discussed and
Chairman Walters was authorized to contact the State Park and Beach
Commission regarding the rulas that they have recently laid down for
use within the StPte Park and Beach System„
The next item of business was discussion of replacement
of two Commissioners whose terms expire January 1, 1957c It was agreed
that a list of names of suggestions for replacements should be
submitted to the Councils
City Manager Nelson brought up the subject of the City Engineer
and asked that he meet with the Harbor Commission to discuss Harbor
problems and be brought up to date on the Harbor Commission's activities*
Upon motion of Commissioner Christiansen, seconded by
Commissioner Merkle, it was agreed to adjourn to 7:00 P0M09 December 19the
Meeting was adjourned at 9:30 P0M0
