CARLSBAD HARBOR COMMISSION

Present: Commissioners Allen, Dennis, Miesse, Scheetz and Gaus.
Absent: Commissioners Phillips and Osburn.
CORRESPONDENCE:
Western Outboard Association letter requesting approval of dates
for racing events on Agua Hedionda Lagoon: It was moved by Miesse,
seconded by Scheetz and unanimously approved, that the recommen-
dation be made to the City Council to approve the following dates,
with the condition that provisions be made to assure free egress
and ingress to the West end of the inner lagoon for Boats launched
at Pirates Cove: January 8 and March 19> 19&E or 'the weekends
immediately following in case of inclement weather.
NEW BUSINESS:
A. Rezoning of Pirates Cove: See Resolution No. 6 attached.
B. Abolishment of the Harbor Commission: It was moved by Allen,
seconded by Dennis and unanimously approved, that the recommen-
dation be made to the City Council to abolish the Harbor Com-
mission due to the apparent futility of further attempts to
develop a harbor AT THE PRESENT TIME and the fact that the only
business which is being brought before the Commission involves
requests for special events that could be disposed of much more
efficiently by the City Manager.
