CALL TO ORDER
The meeting was called to order by Chairman Chriss at 4:OO
P.M.
ROLL CALL
Present - Chairman Chriss, Members Hayes, Runzo, Hall, and
Moralez.
Also present was Council Liaison Anear.
Absent - Members Helton, Carney, Sanchez, and Ward.
Introduction of New Committee Member
Drew Aitken introduced the new Committee member, Laura
Moralez.
Housing and Redevelopment Advisory Committee Appointments
Drew Aitken indicated that Members Sanchez and Carney were
re-appointed to the Committee. He also reported that Member
Carney has indicated her wish to resign from the Committee;
however, she will serve until such time as another Section 8
resident requests appointment to the Committee.
that Staff.is currently petitioning Section 8 residents, to
ascertain if anyone is interested in serving on the
Committee. He also indicated that the next three members up
for appointment are Chriss, Helton, and Hall.
He added
Chairman Chriss stated his feeling that a year is sufficient
time for a member to serve as Chairman, and requested that
the election of a new Chairman and Vice-chairman be set as
an agenda item for the next..regular meeting.
Committee Meeting Formats
The Committee discussed ways of picking up Old Business items
from meeting to meeting.

Following discussion, the Committee agreed to utilize two
calendars; one for Staff and one for the Chairman, in order
to bring Old Business forward to future meetings.

Staff will bring a report back to the Committee on this
matter, as it was an informational item only.
Local Economic Development
Drew Aitken gave a staf.f report on the matter, essentially
as contained in the memo of April 13, 1981 from Staff to the
Committee. He indicated that the information has been
disseminated; however, they are not receiving any response
from the Community.
Following discussion, the Committee directed that a letter
be sent to the Chamber representative, requesting that they
review the program, and report back to the Committee on same.
Drew Aitken indicated he would report back to the Committee
by April 27, 1981 on the matter.

Budget
Drew Aitken gave a presentation on the proposed budget, and
indicated that same had to go to the Finance Department, the
City Manager, and the City Council.
Council Member Anear suggested that Staff needs to justify
the 5.5 positions they are requesting.
Committee discussion on the budget included requests for an
organization chart to assist in the presentation of same to
the Committee.
Following discussion, the Committee continued the item to the
next meeting, and requested that it be the first item on the
agenda.
Building Activity Report
The Committee accepted the Building report for the month of
February, 1981.
Developmental Services Monthly Report
The Committee accepted the Development Processing Section
monthly report for February, 1981.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES:
Minutes of the Adjourned Meeting, held March 16, 1981, were
tabled to the next meeting, due to lack of a quorum; as
Member Moralez was not present at that meeting.
ADJOURNMENT
