Chris Salomone explained that he will get in touch with those people to explain the violation. Chairman McCoy also asked about the store on Grand that is operating illegally. Mr. Salomone stated they have applied for a business license and were misled by the owner. Review Board. An application will be coming before the Design Mr. Salomone explained that a few years ago they were begging people to open businesses downtown, and now that the program has been successful, the City is becoming more selective in what they will allow. Marty Orenyak, Director of kilding and Planning, made a statement to the Committee, saying that the City cannot, as a practical matter, stop anyone from opening up a business. If there are no violations, the City cannot close the business down unless they would want to resort to litigation, which would take a long time. The City cannot deny anyone a business license.
