APPROVAL OF M0NaTES: Committee" discussion of qualifications of two contractors: Kammeyer-Lynch and Partners and Neptune and Thomas Associates. Kammeyer-Lynch selected unanimously to be invited to meet with Pool Committee. .• DISCUSSION: Ed Johnson briefed: Kammeyer-Lynch subcontractors familiar with aluminum pools. Neptune and Thomas themselves not familiar with aluminum pools, but v;ould use subcontractor, if aluminum desired. There is an aluminum fabricator in general area. Maintenace of joint-powers pool more difficult generally; need for single control preferably by public agency, not school dis- trict. Southgate aluminum pool. ' Pasadena concrete private pool Westminister high school pool used by city recreation. Recommended dressing rooms be away from other facilities,, not a part of the pool (i.e. school locker rooms). Solar heating questionable and should be considered later. Facilities for handicapped would be beneficial as swimming training aid also. Maintenance $40 - $50 without personnel. Snack bar facilities should be outside pool. Covering, not tarp, for heat retention, safety and cleanliness definite necessity. oe Egg
