I. Call to Order
Chairman Heath Fox called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m.
II. Roll Call
Commissioners Present: Carrillo, DeForest, Fox, Francis, Hill, Iserloth, and Juncal
III. Approval of Minutes
On motion by Commissioner Iserloth, second by Commissioner DeForest, to approve
the Minutes of the Regular Meeting held April 3, 2008.
AYES: Commissioners Carrillo, DeForest, Fox, Francis, Iserloth, and Voll
NOES: None
IV. New Business
A. Presentation by Diane Nygaard on the Buena Vista Creek Ecological Reserve
The Commission accepted the presentation.
Discussion followed.
V!. Public Comment
Commissioners commented on recent activities.
IV. New Business
B. Donation offer from Robert Myers: Presentation of Acquisitions Committee's
recommendation and first review by Arts Commission (Commissioner DeForest
and Arts Manager Peter Gordon Action Item.
Motion by Commissioner Hill, second by Commissioner DeForest, for initial acceptance
of donation offer by Robert Myers of a sculpture by Patrick McGowan entitled "Father
and Son" with proposed placement at the Carlsbad City Learning Center.
C. Review of arts element for the General Plan update (Commissioner Fox).
Discussion followed.
D. Election of Chair and Vice-Chair.
Motion by Commissioner Hill, second by Commissioner Iserloth, to continue with
Commissioner Fox as Chair and Commissioner DeForest as Vice-Chair.
AYES: Commissioners Carrillo, DeForest, Fox, Francis, Hill, Iserloth, and Juncal
NOES: None

VI. COMMITTEE REPORTS
Commissioners' Reports
Commission members reported on recent meetings attended.
Manager's Report
Peter Gordon, Arts Manager, reported on the current activities of the Cultural Arts
Office.
Adjournment
Chairman Fox adjourned the regular meeting of the Arts Commission at 10:09 a.m.
