Call to Order Chairman Fox called the meeting to order at 9:03 a.m. II. Roll Call Commissioners Present: Aquallo, Fox, Francis, Iserloth, Schmidt and Voll Commissioners Absent: DeForest III. Approval of Minutes On motion by Commissioner Aquallo, second by Commissioner Schmidt, to approve the Minutes of the Regular Meeting held February 3, 2010, with the following corrections: Page 1, IV. B., paragraph two, to read: "...seconded to recommend..." Attachment No. 3: Under the caption Remarks regarding public comment collected to date, "public comment should not be..." AYES: Commissioners Aquallo, Fox, Francis, Iserloth, and Voll NOES: None ABSTAIN: Commissioner Schmidt ABSENT: Commissioner DeForest IV. Old Business A. Update on Joint First Responders Training Facility (JFRTF) public art project. Chairman Fox gave an update on the JFRTF public art project. B. Update on City Ordinance 1279 revision: Review of Arts Commission's suggested changes. Peter Gordon, Arts Manager, advised Commission members that the next step in the process would be for him to work with the city attorney to finalize the proposed revisions and prepare an agenda bill for City Council's consideration. V. New Business A. Presentation on the Carlsbad Community Vision. Peter Gordon gave a brief overview of the city's plans for transforming the Oak Street property into some type of cultural destination. Mr. Gordon suggested that the presentation given at City Council by staff from the Housing and Neighborhood Services Department be presented to the Arts Commission at some future date. B. Preview of 2010 Jazz in the Park concert series. Peter Gordon distributed the lineup of the 25th Anniversary 2010 Jazz in the Park concert series. He stated that the bands returning were veteran bands to the concerts with only one band, Louie Cruz Beltran, being a new band. Mr. Gordon informed the Commission that 65% of La Costa Canyon High School's parking lot would not be available for TGIF parking this year. He said that staff was communicating with the Mormon Church up the street as well as Mission Estancia Elementary School to negotiate additional parking options. VII. Committee Reports A. Commissioners reported on their recent activities. B. Arts Manager Gordon announced that the Summer Arts Camps registrations were full in two days. He also said that the Sister City Committee would be sunsetted at the end of this fiscal year. VII.
