AB 11-14-109 TOURISM STUDY UPDATE Economic Development Manager Christina Vincent provided a brief overview of what had taken place over the past few months in regard to the study and introduced Daniel Fenton and Bethany Parker of Strategic Advisory Group, consultants for the study. Ms. Vincent indicated to board members that she was looking for the final report ofthe study to be completed in January 2015. Mr. Fenton and Ms. Parker then provided the board with a review of the draft report via a PowerPoint presentation (on file in the Office ofthe City Clerk). Chair Stripe requested that the consultants include data regarding RevPar (revenue per available room) to be added to the report. Board Member Canepa stated the report indicated the period that tourism in the city is not the strongest and asked how to bring additional markets into the city that will affect the remainder of the year. Chair Stripe asked if all those surveyed were using the same variable regarding the amount of dollars spent per visitor to the city. In response to an inquiry from Board Member Canepa, Mr. Fenton stated that the Convention and Visitor Bureau dollars report on dollars spent, did not include what individual properties were spending. Board Members Canepa and Stripe stated they were concerned that the RevPar numbers were too high.
