BOARD MEETING

Board Member Stripe called the meeting to order at 2:30 p.m.

(C) Ill. APPROVE MINUTES OF AUGUST 9, 2017
Motion by Board Member Sims, seconded by Board Member Canepa, to approve the minutes of
the August 9, 2017 meeting of the CTBID Board of Directors. Motion carried 5-0 with Board
Member Samietz abstaining.
REPORTS AND DISCUSSION ITEMS:
IV. AB 09-17-152 SELECT DIGITAL MARKETING SERVICES PROVIDER
Approve recommendation to select Elevated as the agency to provide outside interactive (digital)
marketing to Visit Carlsbad as recommended by the CTBID Board temporary advisory committee.
Staff member Gerhardt stated the recommendation is for Elevated to provide outside interactive
market services to Visit Carlsbad. The consultant will be contracted through Visit Carlsbad and
there is enough funding in their current budget for the services.
A motion was made by Board Member Sims, seconded by Board Member Malaspina, to approve
the recommendation to select Elevated as the agency to provide outside interactive (digital)
marketing to Visit Carlsbad as recommended by the CTBID Board temporary advisory committee.
Motion carried 7-0.
VIII. NEXT MEETING
The Board agreed to hold the next meeting October 18, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. Agenda topics to
include:
1. Visit Carlsbad year-end report
