CARLSBAD TOURISM BUSINESS IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT
BOARD MEETING
May 8, 2019

Chairperson Stripe called the meeting to order at 2:05 p.m.
Present: Stripe, Canepa, Idris, Rauch, Hughes, and Chapin
Absent: None
Introduced new CTBID Board member Randy Chapin from the Carlsbad Inn.
CONSENT CALENDAR:
(C) 111. APPROVE MINUTES OF APRIL 10, 2019
Motion by Board Member Rauch, seconded by Board Member Hughes, to approve the minutes of the April 10,
2019 meeting of the CTBID Board of Directors. Motion carried 5-0 with Board Member Chapin abstaining.
REPORTS AND DISCUSSION ITEMS:
IV. AB 05-19-179 ADOPT 2019-20 ANNUAL REPORT
Motion by Board Member Rauch, seconded by Board Member Hughes Adopting Resolution 2019-4 approving
the Fiscal Year 2019-20 CTBID Annual Report and Budget.
V. AB 05-19-180 APPROVE CONTRACT WITH VISITCARLSBAD
Motion by Board Member Hughes, seconded by Board Member Canepa Adopting Resolution 2019-5 entering
into a contract with Visit Carlsbad for tourism promotion services for fiscal year 2019-20.
VI. NEXT MEETING
The next meeting will be held July 17, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. Agenda topics to include:
1) CTBID Grant Funding Allocations
2) Visit Carlsbad Quarterly Reports
3) Future Strategic Growth Plan
