CALL TO ORDER:
ROLL CALL:
Chairperson Stripe called the Regular Meeting to order at 2:10 p.m.
Chairperson Stripe, Board Members Rauch, Gray, Hughes, Canepa
Board Members Idris and Chapin absent
CONSENT CALENDAR:
(C) Ill. APPROVE MINUTES OF July 17, 2019
Motion by Board Member Gray, seconded by Board Member Hughes, to approve the minutes of
the May 8, 2019 as presented. Motion carried 5-0-2 (Idris and Chapin absent).
(C) IV. AB 10-19-185 VISIT CARLSBAD YEAR END REPORT
Motion by Board Member Canepa, seconded by Board Member Gray, to accept a report from
Visit Carlsbad for the period ending June 30, 2019. Motion carried 5-0-2 (Idris and Chapin
absent).
REPORTS AND DISCUSSION ITEMS:
V. STAFF REPORT
Staff Liaison Cheryl Gerhardt stated that a financial update was not available at this time.
Board Member Idris arrived at 2:23 p.m.
VI. AB 10-19-186 CTBID ASSESSMENT MODIFICATION
The Board held a discussion regarding a CTBID assessment modification.
Motion by Board Member Rauch, seconded by Board Member Gray, to adopt Resolution No.
2019-7 to enter into an agreement with Civitas Advisors to explore options to modify the current
CTBID assessment. Motion carried 6-0 (Chapin absent).
VII. AB 10-19-186 VISITCARLSBAD QUARTERLY REPORTs
The Board received a report from Sam Ross, from VisitCarlsbad, for the month ending September
30, 2019.
VIII. NEXT MEETING
The Board agreed to hold the next meeting Jan. 15, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. Agenda topics to include:
• Quarterly update from Visit Carlsbad
