MEETING OF: CARLSBAD CITY COUNCIL (Special Meeting)
DATE OF MEETING: December 16, 2010
TIME OF MEETING: 3:00 p.m.
PLACE OF MEETING: City Hall Conference Room 3, 1200 Carlsbad Village Drive
CALL TO ORDER: Mayor Hall called the Meeting to order at 3:00 p.m.
ROLL CALL was taken by the Deputy City Clerk, as follows:
Present: Hall, Kulchin, Blackburn, Douglas and Packard.
Absent: None.
CLOSED SESSION:
1. GOVERNMENT CODE SECTION 54957.6. Conference with Labor Negotiators.
The City Council authorize a closed session to discuss employer-employee relations,
salaries, salary schedules and compensation in the form of fringe benefits of its
employees represented by CCEA and CFA with designated staff as labor negotiators
(Cynthia Haas, Deputy City Manager, Julie Clark, Human Resources Director, Chuck
McBride, Finance Director, Cheri Abbott, Human Resources Manager, Debbie Porter,
Senior Management Analyst, Rebecca Melillo, Management Analyst, Cheryl Gerhardt,
Human Resources Department, and Steven Berliner, Liebert Cassidy & Whitmore).
If circumstances necessitate the absence of a specified designated representative, an
agent or designee may participate in place of the absent representative so long as the
name of the agent or designee is announced at an open session held prior to the closed
session.
The Council reconvened at 4:55 p.m. with five members present. Mayor Hall announced that
Council heard the matter and provided further direction to the City Attorney and staff.
ADJOURNMENT:
By proper motion, the Special Meeting of December 16, 2010, was adjourned at 5:00 p.m.
