Date of Meeting: June 12, 1985 Place of Meeting: City Council Chambers CALL TO ORDER: The Meeting was called to order at 5:Ol p.m. by Chairman McCoy. Present: Chairman McCoy, Members Marcus, Holmes, Ronkotis and Schlehuber. Absent: None. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE was led by Chairman McCoy. Staff Members Present: Chris Salomne, Comunity Redevelopent Manager Dan Hentschke, Assistant City Attorney PUBLIC HEARINGS: 1. a Redevelopment Permit to develop an office building at the southwest corner of Jefferson Street and Arbuckle Place in Subarea 6 of the Village Redevelopent Area. RP 85-4 - AUSTIN PACIFIC - Request for approval of Chris Salomne, Cormunity Redevelopent Manager, gave the presentation on this item as contained in the staff report, referring to a de1 on display showing the detail of the project. were used to show the site and the landscaping to be installed on the project, with a color sample of the cedar siding to be used presented to the Design Review Board. Mr. Salmne concluded, stating staff felt this project could cause spinoff developnent in that area. Chairman McCoy apenecl the public hearing at 5:07 p.m., and issued the invitation to speak. Jim Hirschberg, applicant, 4607 Park Drive, addressed the Board, stating their company will occupy part of the premises. Mr. Hirschberg stated, in response to questions, that the Engineering Department had told them there could be 56 feet of right-of-way, but changed their minds and wanted the 60 feet of right-of-way. Therefore, the setback was reduced. Since no one else wished to speak on this item, the public hearing was closed at 5:11 p.m. MEMBERS ’ MINUTES June 12, 1985 Page 2 The Design Review Board approved the Negative Declaration issued by the Land Use Planning Manager and adopted the following Resolution, as mended: REsoulTIoN NO. 050, RECOMMENDING APPROVAL OF A REDEVELQPMEWT PERMIT 'ID CONSTRUCT A 9,307 SQUARE FOOT OFFICE BUILDING ON PROPERTY GENERALLY lBCA!I'ED ON 'IHE -ST CORNER OF JEFFEON STRF,ET AND ARBUCKLE PLACE. Chris Salamone reported that in conjunction with the enforced -hour parking limit and mre mstreet parking, the City is negotiating to purchase me half acre on the east side of Roosevelt just south of Grand between Grand and Elm for a parking lot. transparency was used to show the site of the proposed parking lot. Chris Salomne used a tansparency to show the site of the parking lot and reported this will go to Council and bids will be requested for the construction of the lot. Chairman McCoy asked abut Washington Street and Mr. Salomone replied he had met with the railroad people in Los Angeles last Thursday and explained the situation to them and showed photographs and plans. They had not been aware of the 60-foot trees in the City's right-of- way. The Director of Contracts for the railroad will be mming back to the City with a report. 4.
