HISTORIC PRESERVATION WEEK Commissioner Schwei reported that the subcommittee consisting of Susan Pines (Arts Commission) and Chairman Bizieff and herself have been unable to meet together yet but many of the details for Historic Preservation Week have been handled over the telephone because the same people are involved this year that were involved last year. However, the subcommittee will meet within the next two weeks. She called Connie Beardsley to determine how many members of a Commission are allowed to meet without violating the Brown Act. Connie was not exactly sure but the consensus seems to be that it will be okay if attendance is limited to only two persons from each Commission. Commissioner Schwei stated that she will be picking up the art entries from the various schools on April 12th. Susan Pines will be responsible for getting two judges from the Arts Commission. Commissioners Schwei and Valenti will be judges from the Historic Preservation Commission. Chairman Bizieff will be the swing vote, in case of a tie. The judging will take place at the Carlsbad Senior Center at 9:00 a.m. on April 20th. The ceremony and awards will be presented at 6:OO p.m. on May 14th at the City Council meeting.
