HOUSING COMMISSION

ROLL CALL; Commissioner Christiansen absent. All ABSENT:
other members present. ' . PRESENT:
APPROVAL OF MINUTES; Members of the Housing Commission
commented that the minutes of the 12/28/77 meeting had
not been .mailed to them. The minutes of said meeting
were not approved. They will be presented at the_ next
meeting.
WRITTEN & ORAL COMMUNICATIONS;
Lease renewal 1047 Chestnut. Mrs. Villalobos, acting
director, stated that Mr. Donald Briggs, owner of
1047 Chestnut had (by telephone) made a request for an
increase in rent, if he would decide to re-lease the
3br. house. She explained to Mr. Briggs that he would
have to make a written request, and that as yet he had
not brought the request to the housing office.
By telephone, Mr. Briggs indicated that his request
would be $285.00 for a one year lease, and $300.00
for a two year lease.
Discussion followed.
MOTION; It was moved by Mr. Straub, to increase the MOTION:
rent at 1047 Chestnut by $10.00, new rent to be ' AYES
$275.00, and to re-negotiate for Section 8 in NOES
September 1978, and at that time to consider an
increase if improvements have been made.
DIRECTOR'S REPORT:
Amy Villalobos, Acting Director informed the
commissioners of Mr. Bob Coles resignation.
She explained that she will be Acting Director
until further notice. •
MOTION: Commissioner Baker suggested the Commission MOTION:
send'Mr. Coles a letter of appreciation, with the AYES
signature of all members. (Copy to be available at NOES
Housing Authority office for signatures).
ADDITIONAL BUSINESS:

Mr. Baker expressed the desire, to have a member of
the Housing Commission on -the selection panel for
the new Housing Director. Matter was discussed.
All members were in agreement and asked Villalobos to
mention this matter to the City Manager.
Mr. Littlefield expressed the wish to be better informed
about the functions of the H.A. Villalobos suggested a
tour of the Housing Office and some of the housing
sites. The date for this tour was not set.
The date of the next regular meeting has been
changed to 2/28/78. The Tuesday date is better for
most of the members.
ADJOURNMENT;
The meeting adjourned at 5:05p.m. .
