I Chairman Fry called the meeting to order at 7:45 P.T4, and dir- ected the Secretary to call the roll: PRZSZNT: DIRECTOPLS FRY, EYALD, ZAHLZR, KELLY, RUGERS ABSENT: NOKE Also present were repres-btatives from the Carlsbad Journal and the Oceanside Blade-Tribune, Rogers Director Rogers, present Secretary, tendered his Resignation resignation from this position; it was accepted by Ewald. It was rnoved by Director Rogers that E. 0. Ewald Appointment be appointed Secretary to fill the vacancy created seconded by Director Zahler, carried unanimously, the board, by Director Iiogers? resignation., The motion, I Payment of Director Kelly offered a motion, seconded by Bills Director Zahler, that all bills as presented and and paid. The motion carried. Director Zahler, treasurer, then presented a list of bills for July and August, most of which had previously been approved and paid. There was some question re- offered a motion, seconded by Director Zahler, that these bills be paid with the exception of that of the Carlsbad Journal until it could be rechecked, The motion carried unanimously. After discussion, Director Ewald offered a motion, seconded by Director Kelly, that the petition be referred to the Attorney and Engineer for checking for accurac and to be referred back to the board for completion on October 6, 1955. The motion carried unani:?lously. approved by the auditing committee be approved garding the bill of the Carlsbad Journal. Director Kelly Berkowitz, et al, exclusion. Attorney Feist, Correspondence A communication from the City of Oceanside in re- (Oceanside -- sponse to the letter from the Municipal Board ask- San Luis Rey ing if they were interested in studying a proposal Distric-t;) . for a replenishment basin in the San Luis Rey District was presented. The letter indicated that they were not interested. (Oceanside- A letter from the Carlsbad Mutual Water Company Fallbrook cited an excerpt from a Resolution they had passed Lateral) requesting that the Pbmicipal Board not take actio thority for a connection with the Oceanside-Fallbrook lateral on the request to the San Diego county Water Au- I until bctober 18th. Water President Fry suggested that a committee be formed Problems to study the problem and after discussion Director Committee Kelly offered a motion that a committee be formed to be comprised of a group of fifty or more whose names would be submitted by the Directors with the Secretary to be authorized to write a letter to each inviting him to attend a meeting of a CITIZEN*S WATER PROBLEMS COM3lITTEE on September 16t at 7:3O P. 14. at the Pine Street School. The motion was seconded by Director Zahler and carried unaninously.
