Chairman Fry called the meeting to order at 7:35 P.M. and directed the Executive Secretary to call the roll: Also present were Attorney Dennis, Engineers Short and Clayton, and Claude Fennel. Stephens Lowrie was re-hired for the next fiscal year at roughly thirty hours per week, more or less as required, at the rate of $2.25 Budget Upon motion of Director Ragers, seconded by Djrector Kelly, the budget was approved as presented. The attorney stated that if necessary the budget could be revised at the time the tax rate is established. The budget committee reported on a recent meeting and presented a tenta- tive budget for the 195657 fiscal year totaling $19,340. 1 Override Mutual Tern- The budget committee also recommended a $5.00 override charge to the Mutual and Temamar. Director Elwald, it was unanimously agreed to renew the contract with Mutual and Terramar on the basis of this $5.00 override. Upon motion of Director hgers, seconded by Bills Checks #149-14% were approved unanimously on motion of Djrector Ewald, seconded by Director Kelly. Director Rogers suggested that under the present schedule for election in mid-July, we would be putting the bonds for sale at the worst time of Engineering the year (December). He asked if we could proceed with the engineering study now and possibly save a month thereby which might amount to enough for the engineering study. Engineer Short stated that the Board should not enter into a firm contract before the election. started on a per diem basis which could, if necessary, be cut off at the date of elec- tion without too much expense to the District.
