On motion of Director Rogers, seconded by Director .?llwald, the President and Secretary were authorized to execute the document provided that no furtbr modifications by the SEbn &rcos County Water District should be found incompatible by Attorneys Dennis and Cranston. with certain revisions being incorporated therein. Director lLahler rjnginenr Clayton reported that estimates on the progress payments could be avail- able for the meeting of Uy 3rd. Minutes of the Eeet- I CORF@SPOI!DZNCE : 1. William B. Staats & Co., 4-8-57 -- Enclosiw $10,000 Improvement District No. 1 Bonds for Registration and Issuance. The Treasurer reported that thesq have been placed in a Safe Deposit Box at the Security Trust & Savings Bank, Carlsbd, pendin$ action and advice of attorney. Bond The Attomy stated that Staat s should be notified that there is a Registration fee of $2.50 required by statute for registration of bonds and that bonds, & suggssted that Mr. €toyer, Controller of the San Diego County Water Autho~ ity, be contacted for the form necessary for registpring these bonds. He outlined the process for handling of same as follows: 811 coupons are to be taken from the bonds and placed in the Safe Deposit Box. lvery time the interest payment comes due, a check for that amount is to be sent to the person to whom the bond is issued, and the coupon removed from the box and canceled and filed with canceled coupons. On motion of Director Bogers, seconded by Director khlsr, the Attorney was instruci to contact Staats notifring then of the conditions under which the bonds may be reg. istered, once they are sa register2 they may not be rgconverted to bearer Resolution A Resolution authorizing the Treasurer to maintain access to a Safe Bo. 57 Deposit Box in thg name of the District for the safekeeping of docu- mw&s pertaining to Improvement District Xo. 1 was drawn and adopted on motion of Director Swald, second4 by Director Kelly. It was noted that a charge for one hour Q $4.15 plus mileage @ 6.5# for 14 miles ha8 been made for the purpose of "Inquiring as to starting date", 3. S. D. County Water Authority: Xinutes of %rch 14, 1957 meeting, and Tabulation under date of 4-5-57 as of BBarch 31, 1957. Director Rogers pointed out that as of March 31st , CHWD had in storage in San Vicante 1,410 acre fwt of water plus 475 acr feet in Calavera. -2- 4, California Bank, 4-9-57 - Pledging Securities in amourit of $300,000. 5. Don't Waste Water Committee, 4-11-57 -- Acknowldging chack for #213,60. 6. Department of Water &sourcc?s, 4-3-57 -- Re State supwvision of Dams, This was ordered filed. 7, Schwabacbr & Co., 4-3-57 -- Submitting bill for $4,217.33. The Ixecutiva Secrc tary reported that $4,000 of this bill had already been paid. On motion of Direct01 Z&ler, second4 by Director Bogers, the remaining 8217.33 was authorized for paymc?~ The Attorney suggested that a lattgr of thanks be sent to thi8 firm for their fine work in connection with the marksting of the bonds. The Attornay was instructed to prepare such a letter. 8, Security Trust & Savings Bank of Sari Diego, 4-3-57 -0 Detailing investment of. funds for Improvers# District Eo. 1. The investments wSre reviewed and it was re- ported that an additional $60,000 had been invested as of 4-17-57 (to matwe 6-15-5' at an interest rate of 3%. Director Swald noted that there may be more available fc investment on Hay 9th due to the fact that the progress payments will be less than original ly ant iclpat ed . 9, County &corder - Docmats re Allan 0. Kelly IaSQWnt. mer inspection by the Attormy, these were ordered filed, 10, BhcClellan Insurance, 4-11-57 -- Reporting on Honesty Bond, 11. Colorado River Board of California, 3-26-57 -- Re legislation relating to the Board and opposing said legislation. No action was dsemdd nqcsssary. 12, "California Agriculture", 4-57 -- Containing an article on reclamat ion of water. This was turned over to Director Bogers for study. I 13, Irrigation Districts Association, 4-15=51 a- Notice of rneathg 4-25-57 in Santee Director Rogers said he would attend with Mrs. Rogers. Director Rogers asked to be contacted later on the subject , Authority The Attorney reported that the Authority has hired engineers to make a survey of the water resources of the various Districts. It is expectd that they will be visiting this District soon. It was agreed that Director Rogers should be, the spokes- for the District and should be not if ied upon arrival of the Ingineers. Director awald reported on having attended a lacture by X. J, Shelton at Palomar Col- lege. Hq noted that ons of the most interesting facts learned was that the ditch be- low the Tracy Pumping Station is about 20$ under capacity. Director Rog9rs said he had talked with Shdton and learned that ths power problem is as great as the water problem since there is more demand for power th it is possiblg to keep up with. Di' rector Rogers stated also that he had learned that fB2. Jemings is very opt inistic about the settlement of the "Counties of Origin" problem. hgesgoygf Director rSwald suggested that in view of the fact that I mw Improve- Maps & men* District may be formed to the South, it would be advantageous for Tax Bolls the District to havg the Assessor's maps and the tax rolls for the par of thq District outside tha City limits. On motion of Director Rogers seconded by Director Z!wald, it was agreed to purchase the mags and tax rolls specifiec and to get an appropriate bindsr for Same. Bxec. Sects The request of t& lxscutive Secretary for vacation time the week of Vacation Hay 13th was granted on motion of Director Rogers, seconded by Direct0 I " Zahler.
