Present: Directors: XdU, FZY, KELLY, ROGErR3 Absent: Directors: NONE Also present were Engineers Clayton, Shwt and Xukuk; Attsrneys SsJirsky and Graham Iiell kessrs. blrn. Cannon, Stewart i&ite, Irwin Kelly, Zobert Garland and 3ick Carboneax. 3iinutes of the June 5th nieeting were ordered held for the next meeting. .. ~ Water Attorney Graham Kelly presented an a2plicatlon for a temporary retail wal Connection connection as per Ordinance No. 9. Attorney Swirsky stated that the appl cation is correct as to fom- but there are deterrdnations remaining to bt nade by the Soard. he referred to Sections 6 and '7 of the Ordinance re the deposit re- quired and size, design and location of service ccnnections. With reference to the deposit, Attorney Kelly noted that there is no way of getting the estimated cost before the application is made. Fie offered, therefore, to nake the re- quired deposit as SOOT? as the cost ceuld be established and r.6thFn a reasonable tixe fr notification. :?e said the covlnection is wanted as soon as 3ossible and before the wate is turned into the line. Engineer Short estinated it would take 10 days to 2. weeks to obtain the valve necessary. (It would have to be an 8" valve reduced to the 311 of the application.) Short was unable to give an estimate of the deposit necessary since it would be necessary to see the location as the topography has considerable effect on the cost. kie did venture to state that it would. probably be between $1,000 and $1,500 but serted th2t tbis is only a rough guess. Director Rogers asked Attorney Belly how much water the Kellys would want to use out of the line. Belly said hedid not know, Director Rogers then pointed out that the result of the July 9th election will have qcite a bearing on how nuch water will be available. Director Rogers asked about the possibility of installing the valve without a commitmx at this tine from the aoard. Engineer Short sta.ted that no great amomt of water would be wasted at the location under consideration even if the connection were installed aft water is in the line and that it is exyected that the contractor will have water in the line by the end of next week anyway and there is a question as to whether the valve cox be installed before then. He suggested not interfering with the contractor now. The amount of water wasted, he said, woula not be more than $10.00 worth. Attorney Kelly expressed the desire to avoid waiting until the road is resurfaced since that would lead to tbe cost sf again: resurfacing. Director Lwzld stated that since our Attorney has stated that the a9plFcation is in prc form, the only thing left is the deteri5nation of. costs by the engineer. Sngineer Shor said his understanding is that, as yet, the 3oard has not detemined its policy with rc spect to this and th.at his firm krill analyze the situation and ziake recormendations not by the Board.
