DISTRICT HELD OCTOBER 29, 1959 AT 4:OO P.M. at 601 ELM AVENUE, CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA
FOR THE PURPOSE OF SELECTING NEW PIPELINE SUPERINTENDENT AND DISCUSSION OF WATER
I.: STORAGE PROBLEM.
President Kelly called the meeting to order at 4:OO P.M. with Directors Carnohan, Coe,
Greek and Haerkle answering roll call. Attorney Swirsky and office staff were also'
present.
(John Barnes of Blade-Tribune arrived at 4:03 P.M.)
Pipe1 ine Director Carnohan advised the Board that due to illness, Pipeline
Superintendent Supterintendent Hausladen would be unable to return to work, and that I T. H. Tucker had made application for the position.
After discussion, upon motion of Director Maerkle, seconded by Director Coe, and
unanimously carried, it was moved that T. H. Tucker be hired as the new Pipeline Super-
intendent at a salary of $560.00 per month to start, and to start to work as soon as
released from the City.
Water President Kelly advised the Board that he felt further study should be made

for a feasibility report, at a cost not to exceed $500.00.
After discussion, upon motion of Director Maerkle, seconded by Director Carnohan and
unanimously carried, it was moved that President Kelly would contact a Mr. Shelton of
San Diego to find out what the possible cost would be for a survey of Santa Sinforosa,
giving us the maximum capacity and estimated cost of reservoir.
The meeting was declared adjourned at 5:29 P.M.

The undersigned, as President of the Board of Directors of Carlsbad
Municipal Water District, hereby calls a special meeting of said
Board to be held Thursday, October 29, 1959 at 4:OO P.M. at 601 Elm
Avenue, Carlsbad, California.
The purpose of said meeting is to employ new Superintendent, and
to consider our water storage problem.
