President Kelly called the meeting to order at 2:05 P.M. with Directors Carnohan and
Coe answering roll call. Absent, Director Maerkle. Attorney Swirsky, Pipeline Super-
intendent Tucker and office secretary were also present.
President Kelly informed the Board he had talked to Mrs. Dawson with reference to the
possible purchasing of some of her land for a reservoir site, which site members of the
Board of Directors had preyiously inspected.
Mrs. Dawson accompanied President Kelly to the site and after discussion seemed agreeabl
to an offer from the Carlsbad Municipal Qater District for the following described
property: I
Approximately 30 acres of land located below the 520 foot contour on
the canyon located generally northwesterly of top of Mount Hinton and
on the northwesterly side of the canyon extending the property line
from 520 foot contour at a westerly elongation to the westerly boundary
of said property.
Director Greek arrived at 2:20 P.M. and was advised as to what had transpired.
After considerable discussion, upon motion of Director Coe, seconded by Director Greek,
and Wanimously carried it was moved that President Kelly write Mrs. Pawson and make the following offer:
$1,600.00 per acre for all property between the 520 foot contour and
$400.00 per acre for all property below 480 foot contour.

And with said purchase it would be necessary to secure necessary road and pipeline easements to serve the reservoir.
I Director Coe was excused at 3:lO P. M.
The meeting was declared adjourned at 3:55 P.M.

Dear Director:
The undersigned, as President of the Board of Directors of
Carlsbad Municipal Water District, hereby calls a special meeting
of said Board to be held Tuesday, February 2, 1960 at 2:OO P. M, at
2698 State Street, Carlsbad, California.
The purpose of said meeting is to discuss proposal for reservoir
site.
