DISTRICT HEL;D MARCH 27, 1961 AT 4:OO P.M. AT 2698 STATE STREET, CARLSBAD, CAI,~FORNIA:
President Kelly called the meeting to order at 4;OO P.M. with Directors Carnohan,
Coe, Greek and Maerkle answering roll call. Attorney Swirsky, Engineer Clayton,
Project Engineer Kubota, Pipeline Superintendent Tucker, Mr. R. E. Muse and Mr. R. RE
of Republic Supply CO. of California, and office secretary were also present -
The Secretary introduced an executed copy of a notice of sgcialmeeting, with an
affidavit of mailing executed by Evelyn Lund that .a true copy of said notice had beer
mailed to all members of the board and all persons requesting notice in accordance
with Goyernment Code Section 54956 of -the State of California, .on March 24, 1961.
The executed copy of the notice and the affidavit of mailing are attached to the
minutes hereto.
The president stated the purpose of this meeting was to discuss the purchase of trans
pipe for Unit "D" pipelines, Improvement District No. 2.
The engineer advised the board that in accordance with previous instructions he had
contacted Johns-Manville Co. and Republic Supply Company of California with reference
to the District furnishing the transite pipe for Improvement District #2 at a 15%
discount. He stated Johns-Manville was not interested but that Republic Supply Compa
had submitted a bid on Keasbey 6c Mattison Asbestos Cement Pressure zipe, with a 15%
discount. He introduced Mr. Muse and Mr. Reno, representatives from Republic Supply

Company.
The engineer stated this bid was a firm bid assuming the District would order at leas
90% of the quantities shown, and it was also understood by Republic Supply Company
this is subject to the District's satisfactory sales of bonds. The approximate cost
for the 48,300 feet of pipe is $159,283. and the 15% discount would amount to
$23,892.
Director Carnohan asked what -the terms of payment were. Mr. Muse advised the terms
usually were net 30 days. However, arrangements could be made to extend the terms
up to 60 days. Anything beyond that would have to be approved by their credit
department, but this was no problem.
After discussion, upon motion of Director Maerkle, seconded by Director Greek, and
unanimously carried, it was moved this bid frQm Republic Supply Co. be accepted
subject 'to the satisfactory sale of the bonds.

Other President Kelly advised the board that he had receiyed a call from the Business Dawsonas regarding the purchase of their property. The engineer adyised
that his crew should finishs their surveying this week.
The meeting was declared adjourned at 4:35 P .M.
