Present besides the Chairman were Commissioners Stuart, Christiansen, Nielsen, Felt and MoCiellan. Guests were Wm. L, Kenyon, District Park Superintendent, California Division of Beaches and Parks, and M. M. Gregory, Assistant District Park Superintendent. After discussion with Mr, Kenyon regarding the State's plans for the Carlsbad State Park this summer, the Commission was informed that there is included in the 1955-56 State Beach and Park budget funds for one ex- perienced ranger to be here permanently and two lifeguards for four months and for four months and for four toilet units* It was suggested that the center of activities for the State personnel and facilities be the wide beach area south of the Gas Company's jettys, Mr, Kenyon advised that he would contact his office regarding negotiations with the San Diego Gas & Electric Company to secure an easement over beach property, and that he would arrange the necessary administrative process to transfer accretion lands from the State Lands Division to the Division of Beaches and Parks, Commissioner Christiansen moved and Commissioner felt seconded the motion that the following bills be approved and presented to the City Council for payment: 's Badlo & Television ,...$7.50 (for sound equipment for park dedication)Nelson E. Westree , ........ 87.38 (labor and materials - work on Park from April 28th through May 8th) Anderson & Robinson ,....., 8,88 (materials—Park flagpole)Morton Nielsen ............ 5,00 (reimbursement for Park dedica-tion decorations)Joe Apodaca ............... *H-25 ( on account— cost of cleaning up Holiday Park area. Balance due for grading and leveling, $128.00) TOTAL .................... 1150.01 The motion carried. Comm. Christiansen moved and Comm. Nielsen seconded a motion to send letters of appreciation to the following for their attendance and participation in the Park dedication ceremonies: General Twining, V.F.W. Post #8359, Sheridan Hegland, Mayor Ede, Camp Pendleton Band, Father John Lookerby. The motion carried. The meeting adjourned at 10:53 P. M, V -secretary,
