ROLL CALL Betty Wollrich Juanita Rhodes Don Egermayer APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Jim Kinghorn Ron Schwab Bud Lewis, Councilman The minutes of the January 19, 1976, meeting were approved as mailed. OLD BUSINESS; _A. Mayor's Youth Council was represented by high chool student Chuck Grafft and Tom Pakestsan, Advisor. Submitted a report to the Commission of their, needs. Commission made a motion to study report and discuss later at the March 15, 1976, regular meeting. Suggested they have a future meeting with Commission and Director. Meeting with Commission was set .for March 36, Thursday, 3:30 p.m. B. Magee House Ed Ebright, Environmental Design, presented copies of design. It was noted in the News Media copies of the design were available at the City Hall and the Parks and Recreation Dept. One meeting with the Historical Society was held also. MOTION TO &CCEPT AYES C. Laguna Riviera Park Mr. Kater, Architect, presented plans. MOTION TO ACCEPT. AYES ~». Car Country Park ifter discusssion it was recommended that the general idea be accepted but cut cost. MOTION TO ACCEPT AYES E. Maxton Brown Park Plaque dedicated for Lt. Maxton Brown - 2 honor guard - American Legion - Friday, March 5, at noon. Information presented by Betty Wollrich, Chairman. Finance Outside Recreation Discussion how other cities are handling their Bobby Sox, Pop Warner and other outside activities. Thirteen different cities and thirteen different methods. Asked for suggestions at next meeting for settingup some policies to fund groups now—contracts or whatever. G. Community Center (St. Patrick's) Discussion as to how it should be used. Recommendation that Community Center shared by all organizations. Discussed need for live-in custodian. MOTION - Recommend multiple Community Center AYES MOTION - Recommend passive park ' AYES H. Swimming Pool Site Selection JTwo from this group to be assigned to Committee with he Director. Information will be sent to 14 architects. Recommend to Council the findings. I. Bicycle Trail Downtown to city limits of Leucadia should have designating paint striping. Old 101 Hwy. would need negotiating with the State. J. Tennis Courts Purchase properly sited land for more tennis .courts. Ed Johnson will follow up. K. Holiday Park Outlets 26 110 outlets - 2 220 outlets. L. 'Gazabo Holiday Park ' Discussed the plan - 20' with Spanish tile roof. M. Slides of Street Trees Presentation by John Hatch, P & R. Explained actual and potential problems - gutters, pipes, etc. Proposed moving sections of sidewalk and trimming of roots. Certificate of Accomplishment Suggested that a certificate be made available for Board members or others who do something outstanding for the City. Samples were shown to the Commission.
