City Council Conference Room
The meeting of the Parks and Re creation.Commission was
called to order in the Council Conference Room at
2:10 p.m. by Chairman Don Egermayer.

Mr. Johnson stated this is a special meeting to dis-
cuss La Costa Canyon Park. Three years $100,000 was
budgeted for development of that park as a passive
area. Due to the change in the zone in the area, it
is necessary to provide active park facilities
There are two plans of action for development. One is
to phase the development. The $92,000 contract will
provide parking, a sand volleyball court, multi-purpose
court, a comfort station and meandering sidewalks.
The second plan is to go to the 'city Council and
request additional money for extensive grading and
complete development of the area including ballfields,
possibly tennis courts for a total of approximately
$150,000.
Mr. DeDiminicantanio moved it be recommended to the
Council Phase 2 be used including the ball field.
Mrs. Rhodes seconded the motion.
