PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION
December 14, 1981
6:00 P.M.
Harding Community Center COMMISSIONERS
CALL TO ORDER was made by Chairman Dahlquist at 6:20 P.M.
ROLL CALL
Present - Chairman Dahlquist, Commissioners McFadden,
Donovan, Boone, and McKee.
Absent - Commissioners Murk and Wright.
Also present were:
David Bradstreet, Director of Parks and Recreation
Claude Lewis, Council Liaison
APPROVAL OF MINUTES:
Minutes of the Regular Meeting, held November 16, 1981,
were approved as corrected; Page 3, Paragraph 4,
correcting the spelling of the speakers' name to "Mr.
Ernest Walski."
NEW BUSINESS
Report on Levante Sub-Committee
Chairman Dahlquist and Commissioner Donovan gave a report
regarding the status of the Levante ballfield expansion.
They indicated that they met with representatives from
the ballclubs, and area residents.
Following discussion, the Commission recommended the
following:
1) Portable backstops be provided by the City.
2) The City remove turf and skin the infield
for the ballfields.
3) The City and ballclubs jointly install
additional fencing.
4) The Parks and Recreation Department regulate
the hours for adult Softball use.
5) The City re-seed old infield areas with
appropriate turf.
6) The City provide trees along the boundary
line between the housing area and ballfield.
ADDITIONAL BUSINESS
Chairman Dahlquist requested information regarding
outdoor basketball courts at Levante.
Director Bradstreet indicated that this project would
commence the middle of January, 1982.
ADJOURNMENT
By proper motion the meeting was adjourned at 7:20 P.M.
