Chairperson Cooper called the Regular Meeting to order at 5:31 p.m.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES
ACTION: On motion by Commissioner Lyons, the Minutes of the regular
meeting held on April 18, 2011 were approved.
AYES: Chairperson Cooper, Commissioners Craig, Lyons,
Martyns, Proulx, and Simons
NOES: None
ABSTAIN: Commissioner Farley
ABSENT: None

CONSENT CALENDAR
1. AB# 0511-1 COMMISSION SUMMARY REPORT -(ACTION)
To accept, approve and file the April 18, 2011 Parks and Recreation Commission
Meeting Summary Report.
ACTION: On motion by Commissioner Farley AB #0511-1 of the consent
calendar was approved.
AYES: Chairperson Cooper, Commissioners Craig, Farley, Lyons,
Martyns, Proulx, and Simons
NOES: None
ABSTAIN: None
ABSENT: None

2. AB # 0511-2 DEPARTMENT REPORT - (ACTION)
Sue Spickard, Recreation Services Manager, reported on recently completed and
upcoming Parks and Recreation activities, and donations.
ACTION: On motion by Commissioner Lyons AB #0511-2 to accept a
report from Recreation Services Manager was approved.

Martyns, Proulx, and Simons

3. AB # 0511-3 CONSIDER NAMING THE THEATER IN THE BARN AT LEO
CARRILLO RANCH THE KINDLE THEATER - (ACTION)
Mick Calarco, Recreation Services Manager, gave a presentation on this item to
consider naming the newly constructed theater inside the historic barn located at
Leo Carrillo Ranch Historic Park, the "Kindle Theater" and recommend City Council
approval.
ACTION: On motion by Commissioner Farley AB #0511-3 to name the
interior barn theater at Leo Carrillo Ranch, the Kindle Theater.
AYES: Chairperson Cooper, Commissioners Craig, Farley, Lyons,
Martyns, Proulx, and Simons
NOES: None
ABSTAIN: None
ABSENT: None
4. AB # 0511-4 PARKS & RECREATION COMMISSION CALENDAR - (ACTION)
Sue Spickard, Recreation Services Manager, asked the Commission to consider a
calendar of Commission activities through June 2012.
ACTION: On motion by Commissioner Proulx AB #0511-4 accepted and
adopted a calendar of Commission activities through June 2012.

Martyns, Proulx, and Simons
