CALL TO ORDER
Chairperson Proulx called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m.

and Withall
Absent: Commissioners Simons, (Rudick Stein arrived at 5:37 p.m.)

APPROVAL OF MINUTES
ACTION: On motion by Commissioner Withall, the Minutes of the Regular
Meeting held on January 28, 2013 were approved.
AYES: Chairperson Proulx, Commissioners Craig, Martyns, and Meenes

ABSTAIN: None
ABSENT: Commissioners Rudick Stein, Simons

CONSENT CALENDAR
1. AB # 0313-1 COMMISSION SUMMARY REPORT - (ACTION)
To accept, approve and file the January 28, 2013 Parks and Recreation Commission
Meeting Summary Report.
ACTION: On motion by Commissioner Craig, AB #0313-1 of the consent
calendar was approved.
AYES: Chairperson Proulx, Commissioners Martyns, Rudick Stein,
Meenes, and Withall
NOES: None

2. AB # 0313-2 DEPARTMENT REPORT - (ACTION)
Sue Spickard, Recreation Services Manager and Kyle Lancaster, Parks
Superintendent, reported on recently completed and upcoming Parks and Recreation
activities, and donations.
Liz Ketabian, Park Planning Manager, introduced Eagle Scouts, Liam Gannon and
Steven Cook for recognition for their completed Eagle Scout projects benefiting
Carlsbad Trails.
ACTION: On motion by Commissioner Rudick Stein, AB #0313-2 to accept a
report from Recreation Services Manager and Parks
Superintendent was approved.

NOES: None
ABSTAIN: None

3. AB # 0313-3 ALGA NORTE PARK TOUR – (ACTION)
Parks and Recreation Director Chris Hazeltine recommended the Commission tour
the Alga Norte Park construction site at their next Parks and Recreation
Commission meeting on Monday, April 15, 2013 at 4:00 p.m.
ACTION: On motion by Commissioner Craig, AB #0313-3 to approve the Alga
Norte Park construction site tour for the Parks and Recreation
Commission meeting on April 15, 2013 at 4:00 p.m.
AYES: Chairperson Proulx, Commissioners Martyns, Rudick Stein, Meenes,
and Withall
