PRESENTATIONS
Parks & Recreation Director Chris Hazeltine presented a plaque for outgoing
Commissioner Roy Meenes in appreciation for his service.

1. SR# 0318-1 COMMISSION SUMMARY REPORT-(ACTION) TO ACCEPT,
APPROVE AND FILE THE JANUARY 22, 2018 PARKS & RECREATION
COMMISSION MEETING SUMMARY REPORT.

PUBLIC OPEN FORUM
Mary Lucid, an Escondido resident spoke regarding the Senior Center.
Jim Barnhill and Joe Crotty, (LA Galaxy Carlsbad/San Diego) spoke regarding the
future Robertson Ranch Park development.
Linda Schlesinger, a Carlsbad resident spoke regarding Monroe Street Pool lane
schedules.
2. SR# 0318-2 POLICE RANGER PILOT PROGRAM UPDATE (INFO)
Police Captain Mickey Williams presented a report on the police ranger pilot program.
Commissioners requested additional information on the pilot ranger program.
3. SR# 0318-3 LIFEGAURD PILOT PROGRAM (INFO)
Fire Chief Mike Davis and Fire Captain Nate Pearson presented a report on the
lifeguard pilot program.
Commissioners requested additional information on the lifeguard pilot program.
4. SR# 0318-4 DEPARTMENT REPORT (INFO)
Recreation Services Manager Mike Pacheco, Management Analyst Jennie Marinov
and Parks Planning Manager Kasia Trojanowska reported on recently completed,
ongoing and upcoming Parks & Recreation programs, events, and park projects.
Commissioners requested some clarification on items reported on by Mike Pacheco,
Jennie Marinov and Kasia Trojanowska.
