Meeting were approved.

PRESENTATIONS
Recreation Services Manager Mike Pacheco recognized a donation to the Opportunity
Grant Program of $1000. Carlsbad Youth Baseball, representatives Jeff Boyle and
Trevor Shelton, presented the donation.
CONSENT CALENDAR:
None.
PUBLIC COMMENT
Diane Nygaard spoke regarding the Veterans Memorial Park project -versus the need
for a coastal access park in south Carlsbad.
Linda Schlesinger, a Carlsbad resident spoke requesting the status of the park project
for the Buena Vista Reservoir site.
1. SR# 0519-1 DEPARTMENT REPORT
Recreation Services Manager Mike Pacheco and Interim Parks & Recreation Director
Kyle Lancaster reported on recently completed, ongoing and upcoming Parks &
Recreation Department programs, events, and park projects.
Commissioners requested some clarification on items reported on by Mike Pacheco and
Kyle Lancaster.
On a motion by Commissioner Rudick-Stein and a second by Commissioner Livingston the
Commission voted unanimously to allow a public speaker, although the speaker card was
submitted after the agenda item had commenced.
Diane Nygaard spoke regarding the Village H property and the preservation efforts
performed by Preserve Calavera to have the city acquire the property and address its
habitat preserve and wildlife corridor needs.

meeting was adjourned at 6:25 p.m. The next meeting of the Parks &
Recreation Commission will be June 17, 2019, Council Chambers at
