recommending that the map be approved, subject to provisions outlined in said reports, Mr, Kubota, City Engineer, brought out four points to be con- sidesod as an addenda to the Pub1 ic Works Department report:
(1) that title of the map should contain the name of the original subdivision (Thum Landsp Tract #252), followed by the sub- division name;
(2) that the map should carry a full legal description of the prgesty and boundaries;
(3) that certain lots should be adjusted to meet width and
frontage requirements8
(4) that all utility easements must be 12 feet in widtfa,
Don Holly, engineer, was present on behalf of the subdivider, and assured the Commission that all requirements would be met, The Commission discusmd at some length the mattes of the type of curbs to be required, Coasa,, Bcaun-
gartner pointing out that ft would be inconsiatcnt for the Commission to establish a pokicyjn this regard haatily, in the middle of discussion of a
tentative map, Co~tm, Psusell felt concern regarding drainage coming down Basswood unless vertical-face curbs are required on the south side of Basewood; but 2t was finally agreed to leave the matter of the type of curbs to the dis- cretion of the City Engineer, warking with the subdivision engineer,
Chairman Swlrsky summarized the points brou ht out in the discussion, Coma Yourell moved the adopkion of Resolution # \ -proving tentative map of

the Fire Department;

that the area be served by the Carlsbad public sewer system;
that water be provided by the Carlsbad Mutual Water Company;

Leo Black, representing the Veterans of Foreiw Wars, was present to canplain that the organization was refused a permit to erect a.bui1ding on t11eI.r lot
on Carlsbad Boulevard, due to lack of space for off-street parking; but that
arrangements are being made for parking space on adjacent property, Mr, Ka-
licka explained that such arrangements must include a recorded lien against
the adjacent properties to insure against their being built upon, which the owners nay be unwilling to give, He recommended that the group eizher ac- quire a larger lot or apply for a variance from the ordinance reqt:iremont,
Mr, Rill Baldwin, VFW rnemhep, was present ad stated he felt the organization will probably submit an application for variance,
Mr, Kubota stated that copies of the street cross-section sketch will be mailed out to members prior to the next meeting,

Mro Nelson announced a joint meeting scheduled for 7:OQ P, M, March 27th, of.
the City Council and Carlshad Mutual W6ter District Board, to discuss problems
of watRP distribution to the proposed annexation areaS and invited Commission- ers to -attend and participate in the discussion,
Chairman Swirsky announced the meeting of League of California Cities to be held in Carlsbad at the Twin Inns om Friday, March lsth, at 7:OO Po M,
Mr, Ewald reported that Yro Patterson, harbor engineer, had requested an cx- tension of 40 days on his contsact with the County and the Supervisore had grctnted same
