HomeMy WebLinkAbout1957-03-26; Planning Commission; MinutesMarch 26, Meeting called to order at 7:lO P, M, by Chairman Swirsky, Present besLdes the Chairman were Commissioners Jarvie, Stringer, Fennel, Yourell, Engel- mann, Raumgartnes; Planning Consultant Kalicka, City Engineer Kubota, Comm, Stringer moved that minutes of the regular meeting of March 12th be approved as submitted, Seconded by Comn, Engelmann, All ayes, motion carried PUBLIC HBARING - PKOPOSED AB%NDMENT TO ORDINANCE 9060, Chairman Swirsky read Notice of Public Hearing to consider change of wording of Sectian R507, Ordinance #906OP by adding the words: "at the building setback Pine" - omitted at time of printing of the ordinance, Comm, Stringer moved that the Commission recommend eo the City Council the re-wording of Section #SO7 of Ordinance 19060 as advertised, Seconded by Cam, Yourell, Seven ayes, no nays, motAon carried, PUBLIC HEARING - MASTER STREET PLAN, Chairman Swirsky read Notice of Public Hearine. and a letter from Mr,and Mrs, Arthur Edwards dated March 21 e 19570 The EdGirdlrs protested the widening of Tamarack Avenue on the basis that it would dawa,ge the portion of their property fronting on Tamarack (Lots 9# 10 and 11, Block G, Palisades), and that the present traffic volume does not justify the widening, Mr, Kalicka px-ssented the popoered Master Street Plan and expleined in de- tail the purposes and legal reasons for adopting the plan,- poiqtlng out the proposad extensions ~f Elm, Tamarack an4 Terramar Drive to connect with El Camina Reaf.. ~e stated that these majw streets will be 84* wide, with a m&nLaurn of four moving lanes, whi9s sdcondapy streets will be 668 wfde with a maximurn of Four traffic lanes, Chairman Swirsky invited persans present to voice their cammentso COL, -DAVIT DUFJNE, 303.6 High2and Drive, asked why Elm had been chosen for exL&.engldona M[I[..
