He reported I ;talking to them briefly and would talk to them agdin. !Mr. Thornton presented a map and explained that : :Harrison only serves a small portion of the lagood, !while Adam will be serving a greater area. I !Harrison is difficult to improve because of the i :topography. The future traffic needs will be b I !greater on Adams Ave. IflR. F. J. FOX inquired about the entrances to the :that the proposed shopping center plans to have i !access on Adams St. and Tamarack Ave. I I :The Planning Director explained that khen the 1 b :Freeway was constructed it created dead end streef$, $0 the frontage road of Pi0 Pic0 Drive was buil t. i :A frontage road can border the freeway after it ; jis widened except for this one short block which i :would require several sharp turns to locate the : ;frontage road along the freeway which would not i :be a very acceptable solution with regard to safe : !traffic flow. If the sharp turns are eliminated :the frontage road would create a strip of land : :along the freeway which would be difficult to I I idevelop. t !could be considered the dividing line between the i jharbor and residential area and showed a proposed I :loop down along the ocean to the lagoon. This I !area to the south is slated for high density. :Adams Street will be a heavily used street no !matter what happens within the next 20 years. He ! :pointed out that it would be a better route to tak:e :property for street improvements rather than havir@ ia street go'ng down through parcels and dividing : ithem. I $lr. John Gamble stated that no matter how fast f jthey build freeways, they will always be 10 years : :behind.
