I i MR. D. K. SPEER, San Diego County Engineer, was : the hearing officer at the public hearing held by the County of San Diego, County Engineer Depart- ! ment to discuss the proposed improvement of El Camino Real between San Marcos Road in Encinitas i and Chestnut Avenue in Carlsbad.
I MR. SPEER made a presentation of the proposed im-i
i provement which will rebuild the existing road : surface and widen it to four lanes, with minor i : realignments. Construction is planned for 1969- ;
70, by which time this improvement will be needed! : It will function as the connecting link between a: reconstructed road, going north from Chestnut Ave.!
I and a four-lane road on the existing San Marcos : i Road alignment connecting El Camino Real with : Interstate 5. The length of this improvement is ; approximately 10 miles. The project will be I I : financed jointly by the City of Carlsbad, the I i County, the State, and the U. S. Government.
