CAJ,L TO ORDER was made by Chairman Farrow at 6:00 P.H.
ROLL CALL
Present Farrow, Rombotis, Jose, Schlehuber, and
Rawlins.
Absent -Harcus and Friestedt.
Staff Members present were:
Frank Aleshire, City Manager
David Bradstreet, Parka and Recreation Director
Harsha Backlund, Administrative Assistant
James Hagaman, Planning Director
Michael Holzmiller, Principal Planner
Charles Grimm, Associate Planner
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE was led by Chairman Farrow.
CONTINUED PUBLIC HEARINGS:
1. Revised Parks and Recreation Element -GPA-63.
James Hagaman gave a short presentation, indicating that
all issues on the matter have now been satisfactorily
resolved, and that the purpose of the meeting was to vote
on the matter.
Commissioner Rombotis indicated that although he was not
present at the previous hearing on this item, he had
reviewed all the material and felt qualified to vote.
Commissioner Rawlins indicated that he did not feel
qualified to vote since this was his first meeting as a
Planning Commissioner and he was not a member when the
previous hearing was held.
Coanissioner Jose explained why he had abstained at the
previous meeting, and expressed his opinion that the
entire Commission should be reviewing and voting on this
matter because of its importance. However, given the time
conetrainta, he indicated he was willing to vote, ra•her
than abstaining.
The co-ission adopted the following Resolution,
recommending approval of GPA--63 to the City Council:
RESOLUTION NO. 1947, RECOMMENDING TO THE CITY
COUNCIL ADOPTION OF A GENERAL PLAN AMENDMENT NO. 63,
ADOPTING A REVISED PARKS AND RECREATION ELEMENT OF
THE GENERAL PLAN OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD.
ADJOURNMENT
