uaep The :ity Manager explained that the only public property in the area
is the width of the street, as the property to the east is owned by
the Paul EV<e interests (at the present tine leased to "Whitey" Glissman)
and the property to the west is owned by the Sportsman9 a Club» He con*»
mented th-t development of the area as suggested could result in serious
parking aid traffic problems^ He reported that the Highway Department is
sonding at Engineer in to look into the possibility of building a service
rot'd from Pio Pico and Chinquapin south - not for public use but primarily
to &ot Ci y equipment in for maintenance purposes**
The City l^anager volunteered to arrange a field trip over the area if mem-
bers of tt:j Commission wish to make a ground study before preparing a
recommend it ion o
The matter was deferred to the next regular meeting to permit a thorough
study to bi» mad«o
(2) KE«B P \t>Xic meeting regarding bond election! and suggesting that a
public "opec forum** type meeting be held approximately one week prior to
the election, City Manager Palkowski stated that the preliminary report
from Boyle Engineering is to be ready by June 20th, and that the Blade-
Tribune is prepared to furnish good publicity at the pr«£«w» timeo Chairman
Crora appointed Commso Guevara and Lawson to contact the proper authorities
at Pine Avenue School and ascertain if the meeting can be held there on
July 21st at 8\00 P0 Mo The City Manager offered to assist in making ar-
rangements for -,he meeting, and stated Mayor Ledger wood is anxious to meet
with the commit lee as soon as convenient,,
Chairman Cron announced that the next regular meeting of the Commission
will be held on July 16, 1959o
