HomeMy WebLinkAbout1989-01-19; Senior Commission; MinutesJanuary 19, 1989 P A Special Meeting of the Carlsbad Senior Commission was held on Wednesday, January 11, 1989. Call to Order: Chairman Van called the meeting to order at 12:30 P.M. Roll Call: Present - Chairman Van, Commissioners Ritchie and Maggio. Absent - Commissioners Savary and Heard. Others Present: Sue Spickard, Senior Citizen Coordinator. Acceptance of Donation: Sue Spickard reported that the Area Agency on Aging (A.A.A.) is offering to donate a new 1988 Dodge mini Cargo Van to the Senior Center. The Cargo Van will be used to pick up the food for Nutrition and Home Delivered Meals Programs. Sue stated that the A.A.A. will allow the Senior Center to use excess funds for maintenance and replacement costs for the van. A.A.A. is aware that the City is self-insured. Additional staff to drive the van will not be needed. - A.A.A. needs to know by January 31, 1989, whether or not we will accept the donation of the van. If agreed, Sue will prepare an agenda bill to go to Council by January 24. Theresa Maggio made a motion to accept the Cargo Van from A.A.A.; Dorie Ritchie seconded the motion.
