MEETING OF: SENIOR COMMISSION

CALL TO ORDER:
Chairperson Whittaker called the Meeting to order at 1 : 15 p.m.
ROLL CALL was taken by Sue Spickard, as follows:
Present:
Absent: Commissioner Serrin
Commissioners Whittaker, Chmiel, West and Zink.
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE was led by Chairperson Whittaker.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES:
ACTION: On motion by Commissioner Chmiel, Minutes of the Regular Meeting
held August 7, 1997, were unanimously approved as presented.
CONSENT CALENDAR
, ACTION: On motion by Chairperson Whittaker, Commission unanimously
affirmed the Action of the Consent Calendar, Item #6, as follows:
0 Committee Reports
Volunteer Recognition Celebration
ACTION By proper motion, the Commission unanimously voted to:
0 Establish the rule that if a volunteer brings a guest who is not a
volunteer, a $10 fee will be charged for the guest.
0 Hold the celebration at LaCosta Hotel & Spa and negotiate for the best
buffet price, not to exceed $36 per person, all inclusive.
0 Begin with dinner at 6:30 pm and serve no hors d'oeuvres
Engage "The Fabulous Earrings" for entertainment.
0 Give a gift of an appointment calendar to each volunteer.
0 Have dancing with live band performed by "The Golden Tones"
0 Hold the Volunteer Recognition Celebration on Friday, November 7, 1997.
