MEETING OF: SENIOR COMMISSION
DATE OF MEETING: February 7, £084 2002

CALL TO ORDER:
Senior Services Manager, Sue Spickard called the meeting to order at 1:15 p.m.
ROLL CALL taken by Sue Spickard, as follows:
Present: Commissioners Savary, Serrin, Weber, West and Wood.
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE led by Sue Spickard.
CONSENT CALENDAR
Action: Commission unanimously accepted Consent Calendar.
ELECTIONS
Commissioner Arthur Wood was elected as Chairperson and Peggy Savary as
Vice Chairperson of the Senior Commission.
COMMITTEE APPOINTMENTS
Former Commissioner, Izma Chmiel will continue handling 50th Wedding
Anniversary Recognition of Carlsbad citizens. Mildred West will represent the
Senior Commission at the monthly Nutrition Project Council meetings.
BOY SCOUT TROOP 748
Commission unanimously voted to reduce facility fee's for the upcoming Boy
Scout Pancake Breakfast on March 31, 2002.
RECRUITING FOR NUTRITION SITE MANAGER
Senior Center is recruiting for a Site Nutrition Manager. Connie Cassin, from the
Nuitrition program will fill in for the interim time, while the Center is recruiting for
the position.

VOLUNTEER RECOGNITION DINNER
Commission reviewed plans for the upcoming dinner to be held at the La Costa
Hotel and Resort. Two hundred people are expected to attend.
ADJOURNMENT
By proper motion, the Regular Meeting of February 7, 2002 was adjourned to the
La Costa Hotel & Spa Resort.
