MEETING OF: SENIOR COMMISSION
DATE OF MEETING: March 7, 2002
TIME OF MEETING: 1:15 p.m.
PLACE OF MEETING: CARLSBAD SENIOR CENTER
CALL TO ORDER:
Senior Services Manager, Sue Spickard called the meeting to order at 1:15 p.m.
ROLL CALL taken by Sue Spickard, as follows:
Present: Commissioners Savary, Serrin, Weber, West and Wood.
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE led by Sue Spickard.
CONSENT CALENDAR
Action: Commission unanimously accepted Consent Calendar.
BOY SCOUT TROOP 748
Action: Motion was made and unanimously carried by the Commission to
reduce fees for the Annual Boy Scout Pancake Breakfast on March 31, 2002
held at the Senior Center.
FACILITY USE REGULATIONS & FEES
Action: Motion was made and unanimously carried by the Commission to
accept updated facility regulations and fees.
CIP PRESENTATION
Scott Bradstreet, with Park Development, gave a presentation regarding current
and planned Capital Improvements relating to the Recreation Department.
PINE SCHOOL
The Pine School grounds will temporarily house two modular buildings for the
"Stay and Play" program and Centra de Informacion.
VOLUNTEER RECOGNITION DINNER REVIEW
The dinner was well received by the volunteers. Commission discussed the
possibility of changing the location for next year because of the escalating cost.
