MEETING OF: SENIOR COMMISSION
DATE OF MEETING: June 6, 2002
TIME OF MEETING: 1:15 p.m.
PLACE OF MEETING: CARLSBAD SENIOR CENTER
CALL TO ORDER:
Commissioner Wood called the meeting to order at 1:15 p.m.
ROLL CALL taken by Sue Spickard as follows:
Present: Commissioners Weber, West and Wood.
Absent: Savary and Serrin
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE led by Commissioner Wood.
CONSENT CALENDAR
Action: Commission unanimously accepted Consent Calendar.
PATIO REMODEL
Action: Motion was made and unanimously voted to accept the
proposed landscape patio design with the exception of the stationary
planter.
UTILIZATION OF SENIOR CENTER
Action: Motion was made and unanimously voted to recommend the
exclusive usage for seniors and senior administration, of the soon to be
vacated premises of the C.U.S.D. Administrative offices.
PINE SCHOOL
Demolition will be completed by this coming September. The Pine School
grounds will continue to house "Stay and Play" program and Centro de
Information until other plans have been made.
ARTIST SELECTION
Kim Siefert from San Diego has been selected to do the ceramic work for
the Pine Street Center.
VOLUNTEER RECOGNITION CERTIFICATE
Commission recommended having a letter of appreciation for volunteers
who have served the Center.
