MEETING OF: SENIOR COMMISSION
DATE OF MEETING: August 1, 2002
TIME OF MEETING: 1:15 p.m.
PLACE OF MEETING: CARLSBAD SENIOR CENTER
CALL TO ORDER:
Commissioner Wood called the meeting to order at 1:15 p.m.
ROLL CALL taken by Sue Spickard as follows:
Present: Commissioners Savary, Serrin, Weber, West and Wood.
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE led by Commissioner Wood.
CONSENT CALENDAR
Action: Commission unanimously accepted Consent Calendar.
UTILIZATION OF SENIOR CENTER
Commission will continue to inquire of the disposition of the possible
added space that will be available once CUSD has moved to different
location.
PINE SCHOOL
Demolition is still proceeding on schedule. "Stay and Play" program and
Centre de Informacion will continue to conduct business on the premises.
COMMUNITY ACTIVITY GRANT CITIZEN REVIEW COMMITTEE
Commissioner Wood will be the representative from the Senior
Commission to participate in the Citizen Review Grant process.
VOLUNTEER RECOGNITION
Commission will continue their discussion on what type of function will be
held to recognize the volunteers.
ENCINITAS SENIOR CENTER
Commission agreed to meet and walk through the Encinitas Senior Center
facility.
ADJOURNMENT
By proper motion, the Regular Meeting of August 1, 2002 was adjourned
at 2:15 p.m.

Game Room - separate TV room/lounge and Card Players
Larger Computer Room
Exercise Room with equipment
Room in between the size of the Auditorium and Classrooms for medium size
classes and events
Separate Room for Arts vs. Crafts. Art/Ceramics dirty - crafts are not.
Additional offices with privacy for Blood Pressure - Health Screenings - Legal
advice, etc.
Adult Day Care Center for respite for Senior Caregivers - (social model)
