MEETING OF: SENIOR COMMISSION
DATE OF MEETING: November 7, 2002
TIME OF MEETING: 1:15 p.m.
PLACE OF MEETING: CARLSBAD SENIOR CENTER
CALL TO ORDER:
Commissioner Wood called the meeting to order at 1 :15 p.m.
ROLL CALL taken by Lori Swenck as follows:
Present: Commissioners Savary, Weber, West and Wood.
Absent: Commissioner Serrin
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE led by Commissioner Wood.
CONSENT CALENDAR
Action: Commission unanimously accepted Consent Calendar.
MANAGERS REPORT
Lori Swenck introduced the new Site Manager, Sharon McAnally. One of
McAnally's goals is to make sure every senior is welcomed along with
providing a good meal.
CHAIRPERSONS REPORT
Commission Wood suggested at another time we look at changing the
name of the "Senior Center" to another name. The word Senior, may
keep younger retirees away.
PATIO REMODEL
Scott Bradstreet with Park Development reviewed the plans and advised
that his hope was to have the Bid Package out in the next couple of
weeks. Discussion ensued regarding tiles around the planter. Scott will
talk to artist, Ron Juncal to see what designs he may offer.
PINE STREET PARK
Bradstreet gave a detailed overview of the recommended Master Plan for
the park to be built on the Pine School Property.
ADJOURNMENT
By proper motion, the Regular Meeting of November 7, 2002 was
adjourned at 2:30 p.m.
