MEETING OF: SENIOR COMMISSION
DATE OF MEETING: February 6, 200*3
TIME OF MEETING: 1:15 p.m.
PLACE OF MEETING: CARLSBAD SENIOR CENTER
CALL TO ORDER:
Commissioner Wood called the meeting to order at 1:15 p.m.
ROLL CALL taken by Lori Swenck as follows:
Present: Commissioners Savary, Weber, and Wood.
Absent: Serrin and West
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE led by Commissioner Wood.
CONSENT CALENDAR
Action: Commission unanimously accepted Consent Calendar.
MANAGERS REPORT
Lori Swenck gave an update on upcoming events at the Senior Center.
Valentine Dance is planned on I
tickets have been sold thus far.
Valentine Dance is planned on February 14th at 7:00 p.m. Over 100
CHAIRPERSONS REPORT
Commissioners Wood and Serrin attended a Senior Housing Workshop
held at Senior Center. The proposed building site is located on Jefferson
Street in Carlsbad. The idea was well received. One concern is possible
parking issues.
PATIO REMODEL
Commission voted unanimously to accept the proposed tile work design
for the stationary planter in the patio area. Scott Bradstreet from the
Planning Department spoke about the patio remodel process.
VOLUNTEER RECOGNITION EVENT
Thursday, April 24 in the afternoon will be the day of the event at the
Senior Center. Details are still under discussion.
ADJOURNMENT
By proper motion, the Regular Meeting of February 6, 2003 was adjourned
at 2:15 p.m.
