Vice Chairperson Nelson called the Regular Meeting to order at 3:00 p.m.

ACTION: On motion by Commissioner Surridge, the corrected Minutes of the Regular
Meeting held on April 6, 2006 were approved.

CONSENT CALENDAR
1. AB #0506-1 SUMMARY REPORT
By a 4-0 vote Commission received, accepted and approved the Summary Report of the April
6, 2006 Senior Commission meeting.
2. AB #0506-2 RECEIPT OF DONATION - (ACTION)
Received donation of $50.00 from Mrs. Thais Jean Leavitt in support of Senior Center
recreation programs.

3. AB #0506-3 ELDER ABUSE - PUBLIC AWARENESS - (INFORMATION)
Gail Lynn, Recreation Area Manager presented a video on Elder Abuse featuring San Diego
County District Attorney, Paul Greenwood. The video is available at the Senior Center.
COMMISSIONER/STAFF REPORTS
Lynn reported to the Commission that the Nutrition Council Fashion Show on April 27, 2006 at the
Senior Center was a great success. Activities Coordinator, Chris Harmon helped set up 6 different
workshops to explain Medicare Part D to seniors. The workshops gave the participants a better
understanding of the coverage.

1. Introduce new Recreation Department Community Coordinator.
