CALL TO ORDER: Chairperson Mehan called the Regular Meeting to order at 3:00 p.m.
ROLL CALL: Minutes Clerk, Allison Fulmer took roll call:
Present: Chairperson Mehan, Vice Chairperson Tweedy, Commissioners Sachs and
Rodenhausen.
Absent: Commissioner Pearson
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE: Commissioner Rodenhausen led the Pledge of Allegiance.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES:
Chairperson Mehan requested a motion to approve the minutes of the April 5, 2018 Senior
Commission meeting.

Motion by Commissioner Sachs and duly seconded by Commissioner
Rodenhausen, to approve the minutes of the regular meeting of
April 5, 2018 was approved.

DEPARTMENT REPORTS:
1. SR# 0518-1 ADOPT SENIOR COMMISSION MEETING CALENDAR -(ACTION)
Chairperson Mehan, requested the Commission consider and adopt the new Fiscal Year
Calendar for 2018/2019 Senior Commission Meetings as proposed.

TOUR
• Pine Avenue Park Community Center. Park Planner Barb Kennedy gave a tour of the Pine
Avenue Park Community Center, which was under construction.
• Pine Avenue Park Gardens. Parks Planning Manager Kasia Trojanowska gave a tour of
the Pine Avenue Park ornamental garden and community garden, which were under
construction.

Linda Schlesinger, a Carlsbad resident spoke regarding items on previous Senior
Commission Minutes.
