CALL TO ORDER: Chair Mehan called the Regular Meeting to order at 3:00 p.m.
ROLL CALL: Minutes Clerk, Charlene Buckalew took roll call:
Present: Chair Mehan, Vice Chair Tweedy, Commissioners Sachs, Pearson and
Rodenhausen.
Absent: None
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE: Commissioner Rodenhausen led the Pledge of Allegiance.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES:
Chair Mehan requested a motion to approve the minutes of the May 3, 2018 Senior
Commission meeting.

Motion by Vice Chair Tweedy and duly seconded by Commissioner
Sachs, to approve the minutes of the regular meeting of
May 3, 2018 was approved.

CONSENT CALENDAR: None
DEPARTMENT REPORTS:
1. SR# 0618-1 SENIOR COMMISSION TRAINING -(INFO)
Commission received training from City Attorney Celia Brewer on the roles and
responsibilities of the Senior Commission.
Commissioners asked some clarifying questions.

2. SR# 0618-2 SENIOR CENTER DEPARTMENT REPORT (INFO)
Recreation Area Manager Mark Olson gave an oral report on the ongoing activities and
upcoming events.
Commissioners requested additional information on items reported on by Mark Olson.
ANNOUNCEMENTS: None
PUBLIC COMMENTS:
Mary Lucid, an Escondido resident spoke regarding programs and facilities offered by the
Senior Center.
FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS:
Discuss having a future Senior Commission Meeting at Leo Carrillo Historic Ranch.
ADJOURNMENT:
By proper motion, the Senior Commission Meeting of June 7, 2018 adjourned at
4:03 p.m.
