CALL TO ORDER: Chair Mehan called the Regular Meeting to order at 3:00 p.m.
ROLL CALL: Minutes Clerk, Charlene Buckalew took roll call:
Present: Chair Mehan, Vice Chair Tweedy, Commissioners Pearson and Rodenhausen.
Absent: Commissioner Sachs
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE: Commissioner Rodenhausen led the Pledge of Allegiance.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES:
Chair Mehan requested a motion to approve the minutes of the June 6, 2018 Senior
Commission meeting.
ACTION: Motion by Commissioner Pearson and duly seconded by Vice Chair
Tweedy to approve the minutes of the regular meeting of
June 6, 2018 was approved.
AYES: Chair Mehan, Vice Chair Tweedy, Commissioners Pearson and
Rodenhausen
NOES: None
ABSTAIN: None
ABSENT: Commissioner Sachs
CONSENT CALENDAR: None
DEPARTMENT REPORTS:
1. SR# 0918-1 SCHEDULE A SPECIAL SENIOR COMMISSION MEETING -(INFO)
Commission discussed having a Special Meeting and tour of Leo Carrillo.
Commissioners discussed and felt this would not be convenient for seniors to attend.

2. SR# 0918-2 SENIOR CENTER DEPARTMENT REPORT (INFO)
Recreation Services Manager Mike Pacheco gave an oral report on the ongoing activities
and upcoming events.
Commissioners requested additional information on items reported on by Mike Pacheco.
ANNOUNCEMENTS: None
PUBLIC COMMENTS:
Mary Lucid, an Oceanside resident mentioned the Carlsbad Unified School District upcoming
bond measure. Mary Lucid spoke regarding programs and facilities offered by the
Senior Center.
FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS:
Intergenerational programming available at the senior center.
Moving the Senior Commission Meeting to other Community Centers occasionally.
ADJOURNMENT:
By proper motion, the Senior Commission Meeting of September 6, 2018 adjourned at
3:33 p.m.
