CALL TO ORDER: Chair Rodenhausen called the Regular Meeting to order at 3:00 p.m.
ROLL CALL: Minutes Clerk, Char Buckalew took mll call:
Present: Chair Rodenhausen, Commissioners Pearson and Tweedy.
Absent: Vice Chair Sachs and Commissioner Mehan
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE: Commissioner Pearson led the Pledge of Allegiance.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES:
Chair Rodenhausen requested a motion to approve the minutes of the June 4, 2019 Senior
Commission meeting.

Motion by Commissioner Pearson and duly seconded by Commissioner
Tweedy to approve the minutes of the regular meeting of
June 4, 2019 was approved.

Chair Rodenhausen presented plaques of appreciation to Commissioner Pearson and
Commissioner Tweedy for their service on the commission from 2011 -2019.

1. SR# 0919-1 AGE-FRIENDLY COMMUNITIES PROGRAM
Chief Innovation Officer David Graham gave a presentation on the AARP Network of Age
Friendly States and Communities.

2. SR# 0919-2 SENIOR COMMISSION MEETING RELOACTION
Senior Commission discussed the completion of the six-month pilot program and the
decision to permanently relocate.meetings to the Council Chambers.

Recreation Area Manager Margaret Hamer presented the Department Report.

PUBLIC COMMENTS:
Nita Rodriguez a Carlsbad resident commented on the space used for the Aerobic Dancing Lite
program and the need for quieter fans.
