Kendrick The minutes of the meeting of March 8, 1971 were approved as submitted. 1. Request for stop sign on Chestnut Ave. west bound at Trieste. Insufficient traffic volume at this intersection does not warrant a four-way stop intersection. However, due to the blind approach traveling west uphill on Chestnut, the Police Department felt that a dangerous condition coul d exist. By motion (Nooncaster-Laughlin) the Commission approved the request for stop signs to be installed on Chestnut Avenue at Trieste, mak- ing it a four-way stop intersection. 2. Request from Charles Kendrick for parking restrictions on Ocean Avenue, and stop sign at Cedar and Ocean. Due to the complexities of the parking along Ocean Avenue, the Commission, by motion (Nooncaster-Priday), recommended that a study be made of the entire length of Ocean Avenue and that we discontinue the practice of approving piece-meal controls. The study will include the feasibility of installing parking meters on Carlsbad Blvd. adjacent to the State beach. By motion (Noon- caster-Priday) the Commission approved the installation of stop signs on Ocean Avenue at Cedar. 3. Wes Radoycich letter re truck problems. By motion (Harkins-Nooncaster) the Commission recommended a letter be sent to Mr. Radoycich advising that truck problems within the Plaza are a civil matter and cannot be the responsibility of the City. Also, the City has made specific suggestions to the owner of the Plaza that would possibly correct the situation. -;ugh1 in-Nooncaster) the Cornmission approved the south- west corner of Carlsbad Blvd. and Grand Ave., and northeast corner of Carlsbad Blvd. and Grand Ave. be designated as a bus stop. The new route will not be on State Street. 4. Greyhound Bus Co. request for loading areas and alternate route Minutes of Traffic Safety Commission -2- April 5, 1971 5. Request from David Koyl for parking regulations on Harding Street and Sandra Place. . Mr. Priday explained that the Street Division of Public Works is now in the process of establishing a street sweeping schedule which will recommend parking regulations on all City streets.
